ARTISTIC VISION

Ambitious. Adventurous. Original.

North Lab (Northern Rivers Theatre Lab) is a professional theatre company based in Byron Bay, creating ambitious theatre in the Northern Rivers for audiences near and far.

We champion adventurous storytelling, artistic experimentation, and fearless collaboration. Bringing together distinctive artists and bold ideas, we create new work that challenges expectations, sparks conversation, and pushes the boundaries of what theatre can be.

North Lab: For Local Audiences.

From reimagined classics to new plays, we bring fresh perspectives to the stage, connecting audiences with stories that surprise, move, and challenge.

North Lab: For Australian Artists.

Through productions, workshops, rehearsed readings, and masterclasses with leading international practitioners, we create opportunities for artists to take risks and develop their practices.

North Lab: Beyond the Region.

Rooted in the Northern Rivers but outward-looking, we are committed to connecting regionally-made work with the wider world.

Locally rooted. Made to travel.
